Licensing meets the accreditation requirements for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).The licensed Certified Medical Scribe Specialist program easily adaptable into medical training clinicals, clinics, individuals, and other allied health professionals. The licensed Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS™) is espeically ideal for graduate medical students, foreign doctors, prospective students of physician assisting, DPN, and nurse practitioners.
Apply for Medical Scribe Certification & Aptitude Test (MSCAT™) Licensing Examination
Upon completion of the medical training program, individuals will be required to sit for the Medical Scribe Certification & Aptitude Test (MSCAT™) Licensing Examination to be issued the licensing Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS™) credentials and be issued active, valid and proper forms of licensing personnel identification.
ACMSS™ enables all work-ready students and graduates employment opportunities. Many employers will offer on-the job training, however the employee must prove mastery of nationally-recognized Certified Medical Scribe Specialist standards.

CLINICAL DUTIES OF A LICENSED CERTIFIED MEDICAL SCRIBE SPECIALIST (CMSS™) INCLUDE:
- Clinical Documentation
- Obtaining patient vital signs
- Taking measurements
- Administering oral and parenteral medications

- Assisting during procedures
- Labeling and processing specimens
- Preparing for, performing, and monitoring EKG

MEDICOLEGAL DUTIES OF A CERTIFIED MEDICAL SCRIBE SPECIALIST (CMSS™) INCLUDE
- Clinically document patient and clinical encounters
- Providing Computerized Provider Order Entry
- Assisting in Clinical Decision Support
This is a 256 hour clock course. Most students finish within 1-4 months. Students have up to 6 months to complete the program. This program includes clinical training in patient care, medical office administration, phlebotomy, and EKG, in addition to patient advocacy, clinical education, training, clinical documentation and medicolegal compliance and also includes a student support adviser.
